John Berends Implements 2021 update

To the Dealer,

The past 12-18 months have been very challenging for Australian manufacturers.

A post-drought resurgence in the farming sector across most regions, along with a lack of machinery stock in Australia, has resulted in an unprecedented demand for local made agricultural machinery. The increase in orders has also resulted in our staff unable to keep up with production across most machinery lines, with lengthy delays of 3-4 months becoming normal. There is not much we can do to fix this problem as we have been at full manufacturing capabilities for most of this period and some production times may still increase further. We expect this backlog to continue for most of 2021 and we are already seeing lengthy delays of our components out of Europe taking 8-10 months which is adding further strain to our schedule. We highly recommend that all dealers plan carefully for the spring now so that you don’t miss out.

During Covid we have experienced many delays in the supply of steel and components as well as significant price increases across almost all inputs. In many cases we have absorbed 2 or even 3 price increases over this period and the price of steel is a real worry as there are possibly more increases to come. As a result, we need to have a minimum increase of around 10% across all products to cover this. A new price list will become effective on July 5th, 2021.

We thank you for your patience in these testing times.

Best regards

Derrick Berends
